Pharmacological properties
ATC vet QP51 - antiprotozoals. QP51AX13 — robenidine.
Robenidine hydrochloride is eimeriostatic, effective against eimeriae of the following species: Еimeria necatrix, Е. tenella, E. acervulina, Е. maxima, E. adenoeides, Е. gallopavonis, Е. meleagrimitis — at the stage of schizonites of the first and second generations.
It quickly passes the poultry digestive tract and has a low absorption level (20-40%). It is primarily excreted in feces, its volume makes 60-65% of the administered dose.
Administration
Treatment and prevention of eimeria lesions in broiler chickens and turkeys:
- broiler chickens - Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. mivati, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. necatrix;
- turkeys (under 16 weeks old) — Eimeria adenoeides, E. meleagrimitis and E. gallopavonis.
Dosage
Ronicox® is fed to broiler chickens and turkeys with feed in a dose of 450-500 g per 1 t of feed, corresponding to 30-33 g of robenidine hydrochloride per 1 t of feed.
The drug is administered to turkeys from the first days of life up to 16 weeks, to broiler chickens – from the first days of life during growing period.
Contraindications
Do not administer to laying hens.
Precautions
Animal slaughter for meat is possible in 5 days following the last administration of the drug. Meat, obtained before the mentioned term shall be utilized or fed to non-productive animals depending on the statement of a veterinary physician.
It is recommended to wear protective clothes, respirator, gloves and tightly fitting, the drug is used. In case of contact with eyes wash them with plenty of water for 15 minutes.
Packaging
Bags of heat sealable film materials or double PET-bags of 1 000 g; multilayer paper bags of 25 kg.
Storage
Store in a dry, dark place out of the reach of children at 15-30°С.
Shelf life
2 years.
