Description

White ointment with specific odor.

Composition

1 g of the drug contains:

active ingredients: chlorhexidine bigluconate – 10 mg;

zinc oxide – 50 mg;

Excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide, PEG-1500, purified water.

Pharmacological properties

The drug has a pronounced antiseptic action. The ointment components are effective against vegetative forms of gram-positive (Staphylococcus spр., Streptococcus spр., Mycobacterium spр., Corynebacterium xerosis, Micrococcus spр., Sarcina lutea, Clostridium spр., Bacillus subtilis) and gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella spр., Shigella spр., Klebsiella spр., Enterobacter spр., Serratia marcescens, Providencia spр., Proteus spр., Pseudomonas spр., Neisseria spр.), as well as yeasts (Candida spр.), dermatophytes (Dermatophytes, Microsporum, Trichophyton, Trichoderma), lipophilic viruses, chlamydiae. Moreover, the drug has anti-inflammatory, astringent and local analgesic effect.

Administration

Apply externally to treat skin diseases caused by bacterial and fungal microflora, that is:  skin staphylococcus, all types of pyoderma, impetigo eczema, skin candidiasis, dermatomycoses (trichophytia, microsporia), seborrhea, otitis externa, purulent wounds, superficial abscesses, burns. in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, swine, rabbits, poultry, dogs and cats.

Dosage

A thin layer of ointment is applied on the injured skin area once or twice a day until complete recovery. Treatment period depends on the pathological process type. In any case, it is necessary to apply ointment for at least 2-3 days after disappearance of clinical features of disease. For fungal diseases continue treatment for 7-10 days after disappearance of clinical features of disease. To treat septic wounds and abscesses, wet gauzes with the ointment and apply gauzes to wounds or abscess cavities. Apply dressings every day until complete recovery from septic and necrotic masses.

Contraindications

Do not apply in case of individual hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine.

Avoid contact with mucous membranes.

Do not use in combination with iodine drugs.

Precautions

Utilize unused product in compliance with requirements of national legislation.

Packaging

Glass bars or polymer containers of 200 g, aluminum or polymer tubes of 15 g.

Storage

Store in a dark place out of the reach of children at 0-25 °С.

Shelf life

2 years.
